Alexie Duncker elected Alumni Coordinator

Alexie Duncker has been elected by the Student Body to the position of Alumni Coordinator in the Student Council for the year 2010. She will be in charge of the communication between, the alumni and the students on campus. Her main aim remains to strengthen and reinforce the relationships within the “EHL community”.

Dear alumni,

As I am new on board and am probably going to be in touch with you a lot, I would like to introduce myself briefly.

My name is Alexie Duncker and I am 21 years old. I am currently in the second year of a 4-year program at EHL. I was newly elected to the position of alumni coordinator in the Student Council.
I am half French, half German but I have always been living in the neighborhood of Paris. After my high school graduation I left to New York for 10 months. There I worked in a brand new restaurant before I continued my way to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where I used to be a front desk agent for the opening of a luxury hotel. And it’s only after two sabbatical years that I started my studies in Chalet-à-Gobet!

Concerning my role for this year, I will be in charge of the communication between, you, former students, and the students on campus. Our main aim remains to strengthen and reinforce the relationships within the “EHL family”. Therefore, we are looking for the best opportunities to allow you to meet the students and them to meet you. That is why we try to attend the alumni events, when it is possible.

Furthermore, it is a source of motivation for students to see how diversified your ways have grown. And I believe, it is an enjoyable “flashback” for you as well. In fact, it allows you to be an actor of the changes at school and to witness the evolution. You are curious to learn about the environment you have evolved in and which you like to remember of: Is it still the place that we will keep in mind when we think of our best memories?

Last but not least, I would like to thank you and the alumni network center for your cooperation up until today but I would also like to thank Celine Wickerhoff, my predecessor, for her efforts and involvement.

It is an honor for me to be part of this adventure and I am very much looking forward to our future collaboration.

I wish you all a successful and healthy start for 2010.

Yours faithfully,

Alexie Duncker (alexie.duncker@ehl.ch)
